RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS NISCA

Interscholastic Swimming All-America
  1. All sections of the online application must be completed. 
  2. All fees must be paid for the application to be accepted and placed in the database.   If the application is not accepted your swimmer will not be considered for All America honors
  3. In order for a swimmer to be considered as a NISCA All American he/she must compete for an interscholastic team and be scholastically eligible as determined by his/her state athletic association or school authority.  All Swimmers  must be in at least the 9th grade level of school to be eligible.  Swimmers are limited to 8 consecutive semesters of eligibility.  Fifth year seniors, 7th and 8th grade students are not eligible for consideration.
  4. Only 25 yard or 25 meter times will be accepted.  Please be sure to fill in the section for yards or meters correctly.
  5. All Times submitted must be achieved in a regularly scheduled interscholastic meet (no time trials).  All times must be submitted to the one-hundredth of a second.  NO TIME AFTER THE OFFICIAL STATE ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP MEET WILL BE ACCEPTED.  NATIONAL FEDERATION RULES MUST GOVERN THE MEET.  All in season non-state championship meet times (with the exception of CIF Championships, Eastern Independent School Championships and the New England Prep School Championship meets)  MUST be  verified with official meet results.  To expedite verification enter the website address for results when prompted to in the application process.  Otherwise  
    you must mail a hard copy of the result to:

    YOUR APPLICATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN VERIFIED.  It is solely the  responsibility of the applying coach  to verify results and make sure your application has been accepted.  Check the “Processed Applications”  list to make sure your application has been accepted. This must be done by the due date or your athlete will not be considered for All America honors.
  6. NO MANUAL TIMES ACCEPTED. Automatic timing ONLY!
  7. Only interscholastic coaches or school principals may submit applications. COACHES DO NOT HAVE TO BELONG TO NISCA TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS.  NON-MEMBERS MUST PAY A $20.00 NON-MEMBER APPLICATION FEE FOR EACH APPLICATION SUBMITTED.  YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNTIL FEES ARE PAID.
  8. A swimmer may be listed in as many events as his/her times may qualify him/her.
  9. Relays teams are limited to FOUR swimmers.  Only ONE TEAM PER SCHOOL. ALL RELAY SWIMMERS MUST BE LISTED ALONG WITH THEIR NUMERIC (9-10-11-12, not FR-SO-JR-SR) GRADE LEVEL.  ALL SWIMMERS MUST BE IN GRADE 9-12.
  10. Each year, an “automatic” time will be determined and published.   Once your on-line application, which has an “automatic” qualifying time, is complete and accepted (fees paid and proof of time submitted if necessary)  you may announce the swimmer as “All America”.  However, certificates will not be mailed until the summer following the academic year.
  11. The fastest one hundred  (100) SWIMMERS as determined by time in each event will be named All-America.
  12. Swimmers who are selected to the All-America teams will receive one commemorative certificate. These certificates will be sent directly to the swimmer. Additional certificates may be purchased after the All American Team has been announced.
  13. Altitude Adjusted Times:  DO NOT ADJUST, leave that for NISCA, but be certain to indicate accurate altitude.
  14. Make a copy of your submission verification page for your records.
